Spices are almost a necessity in cooking. But now, they are used not only to add flavor, but to keep the body healthy as well. Certain spices contain nutritive properties that when consumed, could affect the body positively.

Cinnamon can reduce blood sugar levels. If you’re diabetic, be sure to add it to your meals. A quarter of a teaspoon should do you good. Cinnamon can also reduce your body’s cholesterol count. So the next you make apple pies, add a little more cinnamon to it.

The addition of ginger to food calms your digestive system. More so, it reduces the formation of dangerous clots in your bloodstream.
3. Mustard
Mustard can lower down LDL, otherwise known as the bad cholesterol. It also reduces the number of triglycerides in your body, which can cause heart diseases. What’s more, mustard can raise the level of good cholesterol to keep you healthy. So never eat a burger without mustard sauce again.
4. Oregano
Oregano spice works very much like mustard raises your HDL or good cholesterol level for a healthier heart.
5. Red Pepper
Grounded or fresh, red pepper can help dissolve blood clots. As such it, reduces the risks of stroke and heart attacks.
